Sally Aldinger, President (Area III - Hayfork and Hyampom), grew up in Sacramento and attended Humboldt State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences in 1970. She continued her education, completing an Elementary Teacher credential program with an emphasis in Early Childhood. Sally taught at Round Valley Elementary School in Covelo, Mendocino County, prior to moving to Hayfork in 1977. At home in Hayfork, she raised a daughter while also starting the Gold Country Store and becoming active in the community through the school unification process. Sally served on the first board of the newly-unified Mountain Valley USD, then went on to CSU, Chico, to earn a Clear Administrative Credential. She rounded out her career in education at and retired from the Trinity County Office of Education. Sally stays actively involved in her community by volunteering time with the Mountain Valley Youth Fund, Friends of the Library, Hayfork Scholarship Foundation, and Friends of the Hayfork Park.
