News Literacy Project Webinars: Increase Media Literacy with Students
October 10, 2023

News and Media Literacy for AllThe Problem: In today’s information age, it is getting harder to separate fact from fiction. In a Pew Research study:

  • 26% of U.S. adults could correctly identify five factual statements presented to them.
  • 35% of U.S. adults could correctly identify five opinion statements presented to them.
  • 96% of students surveyed failed to challenge the credibility of unreliable sources.

The Solution: The News Literacy Project equips educators with the curriculum and professional learning necessary to support news and media literacy learning in the classroom, creating better informed, more engaged and more empowered individuals — and ultimately a stronger democracy.
