Randy Spencer has been a general building contractor for over 30 years. He and his wife own a small internet business where they manufacture and sell small hand-weaving looms all over the world. Although not born in Trinity County, Randy grew up in Coffee Creek and graduated from Trinity High. Randy attended Chico State for a year before joining the US Air Force. After four years of service, he returned to Chico State, getting a BA in History and Anthropology. He is a founding member of the Coffee Creek Volunteer Fire Co. and the Trinity County Fire Chiefs Association. Randy is an active volunteer with TCSO Search and Rescue and The Lions Club. Term 2024.
Sally Aldinger, Board President, grew up in Sacramento and attended Humboldt State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences in 1970. She continued her education, completing an Elementary Teacher credential program with an emphasis in Early Childhood. Sally taught at Round Valley Elementary School in Covelo, Mendocino County, prior to moving to Hayfork in 1977. At home in Hayfork, she raised a daughter while also starting the Gold Country Store and becoming active in the community through the school unification process. Sally served on the first board of the newly unified Mountain Valley USD, then went on to CSU, Chico, to earn a Clear Administrative Credential. She rounded out her career in education and retired from the Trinity County Office of Education. Sally stays actively involved in her community by volunteering time with the Mountain Valley Youth Fund, Friends of the Library, Hayfork Scholarship Foundation, and Friends of the Hayfork Park. Steve Canale was raised in Newark, California, and attended San Diego State University, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Social Science in 1975. In 1976, Mr. Canale moved to the Zenia area and began work with the United States Forest Service. He relocated to the Ruth area in 1980, where he has resided ever since. Mr. Canale has been active in the local school system for many years as a basketball coach and working as the district's high school Librarian and Technology Coordinator. Term 2026

Arina Erwin, Vice President, is our local Public Health Program Manager by day. Besides our board, she sits on various boards and coalitions and serves as the current California WIC Assoc. Board President and is the Western state representative for the National WIC Assoc. Working with programs that directly relate to health and well-being is her passion. Mrs. Erwin has had the opportunity to work with hundreds of families within our county and has seen firsthand the importance our small schools can make in their lives. Term 2024
