Assistant Superintendent of Special Education Services

Anthony RebeloAnthony Rebelo, Ph.D.

(530) 623-2861 ext. 249

I have spent my entire professional career working with students with disabilities. This includes time as a dedicated substitute for a middle school special day class, school psychologist positions in both urban and rural areas, and my current position in administration as Assistant Superintendent/SELPA Director. I have always had a passion working in the diverse and individualized world of special education. Seeing the growth our students are capable of in the right settings and supported by the right team of people is an amazing experience.

The Trinity County Office of Education supports school district special education programs by providing school nursing staff, school psychologists, speech and language pathologists, as well as speech and language assistants. The Trinity County Office of Education also provides special education services for all early intervention and preschool programs (birth to five years old). We feel it is of the utmost importance to support our students with disabilities and their families and schools with all the services they need to be successful and be included.

The Trinity County Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPA) provides technical assistance to districts by way of professional development, program review, and fiscal accountability. The SELPA also provides support to school districts through compliance and performance monitoring. The SELPA is a vital and neutral link between parents and school districts whose focus is to build relationships and develop positive outcomes for students with disabilities.

Born in a Humboldt County hospital while my parents were visiting my grandparents, I was brought home to Junction City in Trinity County the following day, where I was raised with strong values and morals in a rural environment that emphasized the importance of responsibility, common sense, ethics, and lasting values. My K-12 experience in our Trinity County Schools further deepened these core principles.

In the late 80's, my career journey began as a teamster at Yellow Freight Systems, where I managed billing operations at their Sacramento breakbulk facility. This early experience instilled a solid foundation in operational management and systems. In 1993, my professional path led me to Intel Corporation, where, as part of the Information Technology management team, I provided support for a diverse range of products to a global workforce of 150,000 employees. Over time, I had the privilege of serving as the Global Product Owner for Email solutions, overseeing critical services for Intel on a global scale.

In 2010, I made the decision to return to my hometown, Trinity County, and discovered my true calling when I joined the Trinity County Office of Education. I now proudly serve as the Executive Director of Human & Business Services, a role that allows me to leverage my skills to bring about positive change in our community.  It's an honor to provide essential support to our local educational professionals and contribute to the betterment of Trinity County by crafting and implementing comprehensive employee benefit solutions.  As a native of this amazing county, I am deeply committed to the well-being of our community and our educators and I'm privileged to be part of a team dedicated to shaping a brighter future for Trinity County.

Tim NordstromTim Nordstrom

(530) 623-2861 ext. 260

I began my educational journey 22 years ago in Victorville, CA, where I taught students in grades 4, 5, and 6 at two Title I schools. Over the years, I've had the privilege of serving as the principal of a K-6 public elementary school and a 7-12 charter high school. Upon relocating to Trinity County, I assumed the role of superintendent/principal at Lewiston Elementary School and later as the Program Coordinator at TCOE. More recently, I helped create and establish the Educational Services department at the county office, serving as its director, and currently, I hold the position of assistant superintendent.

In terms of my academic background, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona, where I proudly cheered for the Wildcats. Additionally, I completed my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at CSU San Bernardino. I possess both a multi-subject teaching credential and an administrative credential.

My passion lies in promoting S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) experiences and instruction throughout the county. Furthermore, I am a strong advocate for providing equitable resources and opportunities for our students here in Trinity County.

With a passion for accounting that began at Trinity High School, I embarked on a career journey in governmental accounting.
