It is an honor and a privilege to serve the wonderful people of Trinity County. Trinity County Office of Education is a service first organization dedicated to providing quality educational services that meet the needs of all students and their families.

Our organization is full of high-quality people committed to ensuring that the focus is always in the best interest of the students, families, districts, schools, and educators we serve. We are a team, and we are committed to providing leadership and support to all school districts in our county and stand ready to serve as representative voices across our region, the state, and country, in advocacy for the unique rural and frontier educational needs of Trinity County. I am excited to work alongside people who share the same passion for providing high-quality educational opportunities for all learners in our county.

A little bit about my professional background:

I have had the privilege to serve as a teacher and administrator for the past 16 years. I have also enjoyed the honor of serving our country before getting into education, serving in the Air Force, and the Air Force Reserve. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Social Science, Master of Education with specialization in Cross-cultural Teaching, and a Doctor of Education with specialization in Educational Leadership and Administration. I hold a multiple subject teaching credential and an administrative service credential. In the past, I have served as a director, principal at the elementary and middle school levels and also served as an assistant principal at a middle school. In addition to my administrative experiences, I taught grades 2, 3, 5 and 6 at the elementary and middle school levels. I also taught at a charter school for students in grades 7-12.

Assistant Superintendent Message

Anthony RebeloAnthony Rebelo, Ph.D. - Assistant Superintendent of Special Education Services - (530) 623-2861 ext. 249

I have spent my entire professional career working with students with disabilities. This includes time as a dedicated substitute for a middle school special day class, school psychologist positions in both urban and rural areas, and my current position in administration as Assistant Superintendent/SELPA Director. I have always had a passion working in the diverse and individualized world of special education. Seeing the growth our students are capable of in the right settings and supported by the right team of people is an amazing experience.

The Trinity County Office of Education supports school district special education programs by providing school nursing staff, school psychologists, speech and language pathologists, as well as speech and language assistants. The Trinity County Office of Education also provides special education services for all early intervention and preschool programs (birth to five years old). We feel it is of the utmost importance to support our students with disabilities and their families and schools with all the services they need to be successful and be included.

The Trinity County Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPA) provides technical assistance to districts by way of professional development, program review, and fiscal accountability. The SELPA also provides support to school districts through compliance and performance monitoring. The SELPA is a vital and neutral link between parents and school districts whose focus is to build relationships and develop positive outcomes for students with disabilities.
