Background About the Show

The YAS has been an annual event supported by the Trinity County Office of Education for over 35 years.

Historically, the show has been held at various schools including Douglas City, Junction City, Lewiston, and Weaverville Elementary. Recently, the location of this show alternated yearly between the Highland Art Center and the Main Street Gallery. The Highland Art Center board members voted to host this show each spring. Although the gallery space is limited in size, displaying the artwork in a professional atmosphere adds dignity and respect to the student work and honors the young artists.

The Trinity County Office of Education continues to support the Young Artist Showcase by providing a show coordinator and refreshments.
