TCOE offers employees whose work assignment is a minimum of 20 hours per week access to health insurance benefits that include medical, dental and vision coverage. TCOE contributes dollars towards employee health benefits. The amount of district dollars contributed to our employees can change each year based on bargaining. Most often the amount increases commensurate with the % of increase that is applied to employee salaries.
Our organization provides these benefits through our JPA (Joint Powers Authority), Shasta Trinity Schools Insurance Group which is part of a larger California state level JPA SISC (Schools Insurance Services of California). This pooled approach lets us access a greater level of benefits at a better price. It also allows for us to bring to our employees’ ancillary services at low or no cost.

Open enrollment happens every year beginning in August and the new plans are effective October 1 of each year. Deductibles reset on the calendar year. All out of pocket expenses during the 4th quarter of the year are applied to the deductible when it resets in January.
